The event-held May 16 and 17 at Allianz Mi-Co in Milan and titled "The Power of Imagination"-explored the possibilities of transforming strategic business visions into operational realities for People / HR professionals through the use of emerging technologies and the creation of new human relationships at work. Highlighted themes crucial to the development of organizations: cultural diversity, artificial intelligence, sustainability.
From my participation in the Congress, I report here some reflections following the panel that engaged People Officers and HR Professionals in the most current discussions on the topic: Where are we with digital training?
● The concept of Contextual learning-i.e., learning that is intertwined with everyday operations-guides the design of training courses
● Life-long learning must become a widespread attitude, an integral part of the corporate culture and leadership model.
● Explicit, facilitate, anticipate: these are three key words for building truly useful training. They guide making the value of continuous learning visible, equipping platforms and content that can be customized to meet people's concrete needs, and, above all, rethinking training models in light of the speed with which technologies evolve.
An issue that is still little addressed, but very timely according to participants, is the avoidance of AI use by those over 50. In many companies there is still a gap in the adoption of these tools as a daily support to work. This resistance, more cultural than technical, risks generating exclusion.
Developing dedicated pathways capable of accompanying this age group in the exploration and conscious use of AI would be helpful in guiding a sustainable and inclusive transition. A support that I believe could be useful for collaboration among all generations engaged in work contexts today, where avoidance can add up to the opposite problem, that is, with the tendency to "abuse" AI tools, relying almost "blindly" on them and thus reducing the quality of results.
It is now clear that training can no longer be configured as a rigid and standardized process while technological, economic and social scenarios are evolving so rapidly. The learning proposition addressed by companies to people must transform into a dynamic, accessible and inclusive ecosystem capable of adapting to the different learning styles and needs of teams and individuals. It is necessary to create spaces - including virtual ones - where people can learn together, sharing common languages, experiences and needs. In all this, confrontation between diversity is crucial.
In-house implementation experience of:
● Thematic Learning Labs, spaces for experimentation where professionals from different business functions discuss real cases, using new methodologies and
digital tools
● Reverse Mentoring paths, where younger people help senior colleagues become familiar with new technologies
provide excellent examples of how different visions can meet and enrich each other.
It is from here that a new and more authentic way of growing together, in the company and beyond, can emerge.
